Base64 to ImageNEW

Decode a Base64 string or data URL back into a viewable image

Completely free

Checking your access…

AllFreeTool is a free online Base64 to image converter that runs entirely in your browser. Paste a complete data URL or a raw Base64 string, and the tool decodes it, shows the picture and lets you download it as PNG, JPG, WebP, GIF or SVG. Nothing is uploaded and no software needs to be installed.

It is the quickest way to recover an image from an API response, a copied snippet or a note that happens to contain an encoded picture. Decoding happens on your own machine, so even a long string is handled without sending your data to anyone.

Common questions

Why does the result look broken?+

Usually the copy picked up stray characters or the string was truncated. The tool strips spaces and line breaks before decoding, so if it still fails the source data is most likely incomplete and worth copying again.

How large a string can it handle?+

The limit is twenty megabytes of decoded image data, which is roughly twenty seven megabytes of Base64 text. Anything larger is rejected up front so the browser does not run out of memory.

Who decides the output format?+

The string does. A full data URL carries its own MIME type, which the tool follows. A bare Base64 string has no type information, so the format you select in the interface is used instead.

Can I view an SVG this way?+

Yes. When the Base64 content decodes to an SVG drawing, the tool previews it as a vector and offers the original .svg file, so it is not flattened into a lower quality bitmap.
