Turn a video clip into a GIF with adjustable range, fps, width and palette
Checking your access…
AllFreeTool's Video to GIF converter cuts a clip down to an animated GIF without leaving the browser, free and with no install or signup. Load an MP4, WebM or MOV file the browser can play, drag the start and end handles to mark the part you want, then set the frame rate, output width, color count and dithering. The chosen range is captured frame by frame and encoded into a GIF you can download right away, and the preview follows the handles so you can judge the loop before converting.
The video itself never leaves your device: decoding, frame capture and encoding all happen locally, so unreleased footage, client material and private recordings stay private. It is a quick way to turn a product demo into a looping preview for a landing page, pull a reaction or a bug reproduction out of a screen recording, or shrink a clip until it fits inside a chat message. No upload queue means no waiting on a slow connection either.
Why use Video to GIF on AllFreeTool?
Precise Trimming
Drag the start and end handles or type exact times, and the preview follows the selected range before you convert.
Frame Rate And Width
Capture at the frame rate you choose and resize by longest side, trading smoothness and detail for a smaller file.
Nothing Leaves Your Device
The video is decoded in the browser and never uploaded, so clips that cannot be shared externally are still safe to convert.
No Cost, No Watermark
Every conversion is free, with no account, no credit and no stamp burned into the output.

Common questions
Do I need an account to convert video to GIF?+
No. The converter is free to use without signing up, and no watermark or branding is added. You can open the page, convert as many clips as you like, and nothing is stored on our side.
Why is the range capped at 30 seconds?+
Decoded frames are held in memory while the GIF is built, so a single pass is limited to 30 seconds of source video; longer clips would exhaust memory, especially on phones. Trim the part you need, or split the clip into two conversions. GIFs also look better under 10 seconds, because the size grows quickly with length.
Why does the GIF look blocky or lose detail?+
GIF is limited to 256 colors per frame and has no motion compensation, so flat areas and fine texture suffer first. Raise the color count, lower the output width less aggressively, and turn dither on for photos with soft gradients. Pixel art and flat UI recordings usually look best with dither off.
Why is the GIF bigger than the video clip?+
GIF stores each frame as a separate indexed image with no inter-frame prediction, while modern video codecs only store the differences. A three-second 480p clip can easily produce a larger GIF file. Reduce the width, capture fewer frames per second, and cut the color count until the size fits your target.
