Add Text to GIFNEW
Overlay text on every frame with font, color, stroke and position control
Checking your access…
AllFreeTool's Add Text to GIF tool draws a caption onto every frame of an animation and re-encodes the result. It is free, needs no installation and no signup: type one or more lines, pick regular or bold, choose a size relative to the frame height, set the fill and outline colors, then place the text on a nine-way grid with a margin. A short line stays legible even on a small canvas, because the size is scaled to the frame rather than fixed in pixels.
Rendering happens on your device, so the GIF is never uploaded and nothing is stored. That makes it practical for captions on muted autoplay clips, a credit or handle on a shared meme, a translated line over an existing subtitle, or a warning label that must appear on every frame of an instructional loop. The preview shows the caption over the real frames, so spacing and contrast can be judged before the encoding pass.

Drawn On Your Device
Each frame is rasterized and re-encoded in the browser, so the file is never uploaded.

Common questions
Is adding text to a GIF free?+
Yes. No account, no payment and no watermark: the only text in the output is the text you type, and you can rebuild the same file with new wording as often as you like.
Why does the text look soft or pixelated?+
The caption is rasterized at the frame's own resolution, so a small GIF has little room for detail, and the 256-color re-encode can soften antialiased edges. Use a larger size, add an outline, raise the color count, and keep the text away from very busy areas.
Can I put different text on each frame?+
No. One text layer is drawn onto all frames, which keeps the animation consistent. For per-frame labels, extract the PNG frames, add text to each image, and rebuild the animation from those images.
Why is the outline cutting into the letters?+
The outline is drawn around the glyphs and eats into the interior when the width is large relative to the font size. Lower the outline width, raise the font size, or change the outline color so the contrast comes from color rather than thickness.
