GIF ReverserNEW
Play the whole GIF backwards, looping animations included
Checking your access…
AllFreeTool's GIF Reverser plays a whole animation backwards, including clips that loop, and it runs free in the browser with no install or account. Load the file, press the reverse button, and the frames are re-ordered from last to first while the loop block and canvas stay as they were. Frame delays travel with their frames, so a reversed clip keeps the original rhythm instead of playing at a uniform speed.
Processing is local: the GIF is read and rewritten on your device and never uploaded, so unreleased assets and private clips are safe. It is handy for an unwinding loading spinner, a boomerang-style bounce, a before-and-after that plays in reverse, or undoing a short animation you already exported and no longer have the source for. The preview plays the finished loop before you download it, and the original file on your disk is left untouched.
Why use GIF Reverser on AllFreeTool?
Whole-Clip Reversal
Every frame is flipped into reverse order and the loop setting is preserved, so the result still cycles smoothly.
Two Build Modes
Move the original compressed blocks when frames do not overlap, or recomposite them when transparency and disposal get in the way.
Reversed On Your Machine
Parsing, reordering and re-encoding all happen in the tab; the file never touches a server.
Free Without Sign-Up
No account, no fee and no watermark, so you can flip an animation as often as you need.
How to use GIF Reverser
Load The Animation
Drop a GIF and check the frame count and total duration on the preview.
Reverse It
Press Reverse the GIF; switch to recomposited mode if the source used partial frames or transparency.
Check And Download
Play the preview once to confirm the loop looks right, then download the reversed file.
Common questions
Do I have to pay or register to reverse a GIF?+
No. The reverser is free, opens without an account and leaves no watermark. You can process the same file repeatedly while trying different modes.
Why does my reversed GIF show ghost trails or a broken background?+
Some GIF frames store only the pixels that changed and rely on the previous frame, and others clear the canvas through their disposal method. Moving those blocks into reverse order breaks the assumption. Switch to the recomposited mode, which redraws each frame as a complete picture before reversing.
Why is the reversed file bigger or smaller?+
The lossless mode only re-orders the original compressed blocks, so the size barely changes. Recomposited mode rebuilds full frames and may grow, especially when the source relied on partial updates. Choose lossless first and fall back to recompositing only if the preview looks wrong.
Can I make a boomerang that plays forward and then back?+
There is no one-click boomerang here, but a short workflow gets you there: reverse a copy of the GIF, extract the PNG frames from both files, then rebuild a single animation from the two frame sets in the Image to GIF maker. The result loops forward and back seamlessly.
