PDF ReaderNEW
Read PDFs in the browser with zoom, page jump and text search
Checking your access…
AllFreeTool is a free online PDF reader that opens a document directly in the browser. You can page through it, zoom in and out, jump to a specific page, search for a phrase, and pull out the full text to read, copy or save. There is no installation and no account, and the file is opened locally, so it is never uploaded to a server.
It suits checking a document before you print it, finding a clause in a long agreement, reading the text of a scanned page, or opening a file on a machine where you cannot install a PDF reader. The text extraction and search are particularly handy when you only need one sentence out of a hundred-page report.

Common questions
Can I search inside the document?+
Yes, the search field looks through the extracted text and reports how many matches it found, so you can jump straight to the section you need. Note that the search works on the text layer of the PDF, so a purely scanned document without recognised text will not return matches.
What is the difference between viewing and extracting text?+
Viewing shows you the rendered pages exactly as they look, while extraction converts the text layer into plain text you can select, copy or save. Extraction is the fast way to get the content of a report into another application without retyping it.
Does it work with scanned PDFs?+
You can always view a scanned document, because the pages are rendered as images. Text search and extraction depend on the file having a recognised text layer, so a pure scan will show pages but no searchable words unless it was processed by optical character recognition first.
Is the file uploaded when I open it?+
No. The document is read directly by the browser, and both the rendering and the text extraction happen on your own device with no network request. There is no account, and nothing is kept once you close the page.
