Does the redaction really remove the hidden text?＋
Yes. The marked rectangles are drawn into the page content of the new PDF, so the original characters are covered by an opaque block rather than merely hidden under an overlay. A mosaic instead breaks the area into tiles, which obscures the detail while keeping the shape of the image visible.
What kinds of PDF can I redact?＋
Only unencrypted PDFs are supported, because the tool has to read and rewrite the page structure. If your file asks for a password when opened, unlock it first with the PDF unlock tool and then come back to redact it.
Can I undo a mistake?＋
Yes, there is an undo control that removes the region you marked last, so you can correct a mark that covered more than you intended. Work through the pages one at a time and check each page before generating the final file.
Is my PDF uploaded to a server?＋
No. The pages are rendered by the browser's own PDF engine and the marks are applied in your page, with no network request involved. The document stays on your machine, which is why the tool is suitable for contracts, medical records and other sensitive material.
