EV Charging CalculatorNEW

Work out charging time, cost, range gained and CO2 saved

Completely free

Checking your access…

AllFreeTool is a free online EV charging calculator that works out how long it takes to charge an electric car from its current level to your target, how much that energy costs at your electricity price, and how much carbon dioxide the charge saves compared with petrol. You can also derive the full-charge range from your consumption per hundred kilometres. Everything is calculated in your browser.

It helps you plan a stop on a longer trip, compare charging at different power levels, and see whether home charging is genuinely cheaper than filling a tank. Bring your own battery capacity and consumption figures and the tool works out the rest in seconds, with no data leaving your device.

Common questions

How is the charging time calculated?+

The tool takes the energy you need, which is the battery capacity multiplied by the difference between your target and current charge, then divides it by the charging power and by the charging efficiency to allow for losses. The result is an estimate, since real charging slows down near full and depends on temperature.

What does the charging efficiency option change?+

It accounts for the energy lost as heat during charging, so a lower efficiency means more grid energy is drawn for the same battery gain. This affects both the time estimate and the cost, because you pay for every kilowatt-hour that reaches the charger.

Where does the range estimate come from?+

The full-charge range is the battery capacity divided by your consumption per hundred kilometres, multiplied by one hundred. Enter the consumption from your own vehicle or dashboard for a realistic figure rather than relying on a generic number.

Is my information uploaded to a server?+

No. The calculation is entirely local to your browser, so your battery size, charge levels, electricity price and consumption figures are never transmitted or stored. Nothing needs to be installed, and the page works with no network connection.
