Compare equal-installment and equal-principal loans with a payment schedule

Completely free

Checking your access…

AllFreeTool is a free online loan calculator that works out your monthly payment, total interest and total repayment for a mortgage or any amortised loan. It supports both equal-installment and equal-principal repayment, and prints a repayment schedule with the principal, interest and remaining balance for each period. The maths happens in your browser, and no financial data is sent to a server.

It helps you compare what a different rate or a shorter term would actually cost before you speak to a bank, and to sanity-check a figure you were quoted. You enter the rate yourself, so nothing is fetched from a live feed and you always know exactly which assumptions produced the answer.

Common questions

What is the difference between the two repayment methods?+

With equal installment, each payment is the same and covers a growing share of principal plus a shrinking share of interest. With equal principal, the principal part stays level while the payment falls over time, so you finish sooner and pay less total interest but start from a higher monthly figure.

Where does the interest rate come from?+

You type the annual rate into the tool yourself. Nothing is fetched from a live rate feed, which keeps the result fully offline and makes it obvious which assumption produced the number. Always use the rate your own lender quoted for a realistic estimate.

How accurate is the schedule?+

The schedule follows a standard monthly amortisation model, and the first twelve periods are listed so you can check the split of principal and interest. The figures are planning estimates and the real figures in your contract may differ slightly because of fees, insurance or a different repayment date.

Is my loan information uploaded?+

No. The calculation is entirely local to your browser, so the amount, the rate and the term stay on your device and are never transmitted or recorded. Nothing is stored after the page is closed.
